Everything we send is insured until you receive it unless you choose the 'uninsured' option on and order between £50.01 and £200. If you select 'uninsured' shipping and your item is damaged during delivery this will be at the buyers cost and risk, so please bear this in mind when ordering and chose an 'insured' method if you want to be safe.

If you receive damaged goods please contact us immediately so we can start the claim and insurance process.


If you have a damaged or faulty order, please contact us within 30 calendar days to discuss exchange or refund options.

If you receive your order but you decide you don't want it, you must contact us within 14 days and request a refund provided it is unused and in exactly the condition in which you received it. Under the Customer Contracts Regulations which govern online returns, the seller must refund the original cost of the order/item and the original postage, but the buyer must pay to return the item. To make this easier for the buyer we deduct the returns cost from the refund so you don't have to pay upfront.

When you contact us we will send you a pre-paid label and you will need to repackage your order, attach the label and take it to a Post Office. When we receive it, and provided the items are unused and in the condition they left us we will refund your purchase less the price of the return postage label.


Current UK law allows us to sell our products provided the buyer is aware they must be 18 or over The Sharp Chef takes no responsibility for anyone who purchases a knife, knowing that they are under the age of 18.

If the age laws around buying knives, or our ability to deliver, our policies will be updated and how we do business may be forced to change.

Privacy and Data Protection:

The security of your information is a huge priority to us, and one we take very seriously indeed. Any information you provide to us in creating a account, placing an order, or communicating with us will be dealt with in compliance to EU Government Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). All you information is encrypted and/or stored securely and is not shared by us, or any party we use in our business, that you have not agreed to.

From May 25th 2018 we will remove all marketing preferences and won't be able to contact you with marketing material unless you re-subscribe to our newsletter on the website.

Payment, Pricing and Promotions:

We currently offer payment in GBP only, through a variety of credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Pricing of items is non-negotiable and we do not offer price matching or price guarantee on any merchandise for sale on our website. Occasionally, we offer discounts and/or promotions in which details and guidelines are posted on our website during the time of the offer. 

Ordering and updating your information:

When you place an order with us, all confirmation and correspondence will be made to the email you provide when ordering. If you do not receive confirmation emails, or dispatch information, please log in to your account and check that the information is correct. You can always check the status of you order from your account.

You will receive a confirmation email within minutes of your order being completed. You will receive another email when you order is dispatched. This will normally be within 3 working days, and you order will be delivered within 5 working days.
