This services is offered by post. Please read on for how to send your knives, and other details, but first, here is a bit about our sharpener:

"Sheffield Knife Sharpening offers Japanese whetstone sharpening services to professionals and home chefs. We also service businesses and restaurants and offer a pick up and drop off service depending on location.

We sharpen, repair and restore an array of bladed tools and specialise in sharpening single and double bevel Japanese and high carbon Chef knives. We use the highest quality natural and synthetic stones from Japan. Each edge is hand refined to produce the sharpest and most durable finish to best suit your needs."

Here's how to post your knives for sharpening:

Wherever you are based in the UK, you can benefit from our services by posting your knives directly to our workshop in Sheffield.

Start by downloading and printing the SKS sharpening form HERE. Please fill this in with as much information as possible and include it in the parcel with your knives.

It is very important that you package up your knives securely, so they do not get damaged in transit and do not cause any injuries to the courier! The best way to package your knives is to:

  • Wrap each blade individually with paper or cardboard. A cardboard sheath folded around the edge of the blade is best.

  • Wrap each knife in paper or bubble wrap.

  • Pack the knives into a secure cardboard envelope or box. Fill any spare space in the parcel with paper or bubble wrap to stop the knives moving around during transit.

Post your knives using a tracked service if possible. Be sure to check that the courier you use allows you to post knives as some do prohibit this. Our recommended services are:

  • Royal Mail 1st Class Tracked

  • Royal Mail Special Delivery - Guaranteed Next Day (Insured)

Once we receive your knives, you will receive an email with the final quote which will include the cost of return postage. We will only start work on your knives once the quote has been approved. An invoice will then be sent via email and your knives returned to you once we have received payment.

If you have any questions about any of the above, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

If you would like to send an email to let us know you are posting your knives, please do so HERE and visit us directly www.sheffieldknifesharpening.com or om Imstagram @sheffieldknifesharpening
