R2 steel has a Rockwell rating of 64 HRC.

Sharpness - 4/5 due to it's extremely hard construction, this knife can be sharpened to a razor like degree, an extremely sharp steel

Sharpening - 2/5 as this is such a hard steel, it is also hard to sharpen and should be done on a good stone

Retention - 4/5 Again, due to its hardness, this steel retains it's sharpness as well as a stainless steel can
